What’s on the stall
Taste Test deals in food questions and nothing else. The quizzes run from guess-the-food rounds to the produce aisle, the world’s dishes, the cheese counter, the drinks shelf, and the standard numbers of food safety. Each subject has its own page, and each page says up front how many questions it holds and what ground they walk.
- Guess-the-food rounds built on clues
- Produce, including the fruit-versus-vegetable calls
- Dishes and their origins
- Cheese, coffee, beer, and classic cocktails
- Food safety, asked to the USDA’s standard numbers
Where the answers come from
Every answer on the site traces back to one dataset, filled in twice. Two authors worked separately against the same fixed keys — a question catalog plus structured tables for dish origins, defining ingredients, cheese homelands, classic cocktail base spirits, the botanical fruit-or-vegetable line, and USDA food-safety numbers. The two copies were then compared value by value: 146 of 146 keys agreed, with zero factual disputes. For dishes whose home country is genuinely contested, both authors independently answered at the uncontested region level, which is its own kind of agreement. Nutrition advice is left out on purpose; the food-safety page states the USDA’s standard numbers and stops there.
How a round plays
Pick a quiz and it runs right in the page. Each question offers four options; choose one and the result comes back at once, with the correct answer shown whether you got it or not. The end of the round brings a full review, question by question. Your best score is saved in your browser, so the record stands when you come back. No signup, no account.
