Guess the Food

Twenty foods, each hiding behind a trait, an origin, or one defining ingredient — this guess the food quiz asks you to name every one. Four options a question, and the verdict lands the moment you pick.

What’s on the board

Twenty questions, and every one of them is a food waiting to be named. The clues come three ways:

  • a trait — the thing that makes this food itself and nothing else
  • an origin — the place a dish calls home
  • a defining ingredient — the one item it cannot do without

Read the clue, weigh your four options, and commit. Twenty foods pass across the stall, and putting the right name to each is the whole of the game.

Where the answers come from

Every answer on this site was written twice before it reached you once. Two authors, working independently, filled in the same fixed set of keys — a question catalog backed by structured tables of dish origins and defining ingredients — and the two copies were compared value by value. All 146 keys agreed, with zero factual disputes between them. For the few dishes whose home country is genuinely contested, both authors answered at the region level, because the region is not contested. Only material that survived that comparison gets asked here.

How a round works

Four options per question. Make your pick and the result is immediate: right or wrong, with the correct answer shown either way, so a miss still leaves you knowing the food. When the twentieth question is done, a full review lays out every question and answer, and your best score stays saved in your browser for the next visit. No signup, no account, nothing to install — the quiz runs start to finish in this page.
