Vegetable Quiz

Sixteen questions on roots, tubers, and the vegetables that are secretly fruit — a vegetable quiz that plays right here, four options at a time.

Sixteen questions from the produce aisle

This round runs 16 questions across roots, tubers, and the vegetables that are secretly fruit. Some ask you to guess the vegetable from what the question tells you about it; others hold a familiar item up to the botanical line and ask which side it falls on. The quiz names no verdicts in advance — the whole point is calling them yourself.

How the answers were checked

Behind every question sits one dataset, built twice over. Two authors, working separately, answered the same fixed keys — a question catalog and structured tables that include the botanical fruit-or-vegetable table this page leans on hardest. Their copies were then compared value by value: 146 of 146 keys came back identical, with zero factual disputes between them. An answer only reached this quiz after surviving that comparison.

The way a round works

Everything happens in the page. Four options per question; pick one and the result lands immediately, with the correct answer shown whether your pick was right or wrong. Once all sixteen are answered, the round closes with a full review, question by question. If a run goes badly, the review shows exactly which questions did the damage, and the next attempt starts fresh with your saved best still standing. Your best score is kept in your browser, so a return visit knows what you’re chasing. No signup, no account, nothing to download.
