Cooking Quiz
A cooking quiz built from the working words of the kitchen, blanch to roux. Twenty questions, four options each, played right on this page.
Blanch to roux: what 20 questions cover
This one stays in the kitchen. The 20 questions run through the terms cooks actually use — the vocabulary of recipes and of the line, bookended by blanch and roux. Baking has its share of the questions too, so the page works as a cooking terms quiz and a set of baking quiz questions in one sitting. What each term means is exactly what gets asked, so no definitions appear here; they wait behind the four options.
How the answer key was built
The answers were not written once and trusted. Two authors filled in the same dataset independently, each working against the same fixed keys — a question catalog plus structured reference tables. When the two copies were laid side by side and compared value by value, 146 of 146 keys agreed, without a single factual dispute. That double-entry check is the editorial method on this site: nothing becomes an answer until both versions, written apart, said the same thing.
Playing a round
Four options per question, one pick. The marking lands the moment you choose — right or wrong, with the correct answer displayed either way, so a wrong guess still hands you the term. When the twentieth question is done, the page shows a review of the full run so you can see where the misses were. Your best score stays saved in your browser. No signup, no download; the quiz runs where you are reading.
